The political unrest mushrooming up in Mumbai recently has been keeping most of Mumbaikars on their tips and toes. The episode reaches an attainable peak today when the Mumbai Police arrested the founder and chief of the Maharastra Navnirman Sena (MNS) (formed in March, 2006) — Raj Thackeray. However, this arrest was not a surprise for anybody including Raj himself and it is reported that he was prepared for the same.

In a major move to help Bollywood, which is being bled by video piracy, the state government decided to take action against the pirates under the draconian Maharastra Prevention of Dangerous Activities (of slumlords, bootleggers, drug offenders and dangerous persons) Act, 1981. MPDA, as this Act is generally called, provides for preventive detention of an offender.

Mid-day carried an article - Virtual khabris to zoom-in on terrorists - they are tracking all your keystrokes, screenshots and mouse-moves at the CyberCafes.

Mumbai police will have access to new software connected to 500 cyber cafes in the city that will send them logs of every keystroke that you type and screenshots at regular interval. The result is a fallout of the investigations into the recent Hyderabad and Mumbai blasts which revealed that the planning was done using the Internet especially - chat rooms.
